And thanks to both the City\u2019s Urban Planning and Public Participation teams for making today an opportunity for residents to be heard give input,\u201d said Ward 107 councillor, Jonathan Mills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-background\">Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The LSDF intends to address the challenges posed by historic planning dating from the 1980s, changes in the surroundings over the past 40 years, limitations on the corridor\u2019s development potential, increasing congestion and infrastructure challenges. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in refining the draft LSDF and to submit their comments by 9 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The draft LSDF addresses the areas adjacent to Blaauwberg Road, one of the most important transport routes in Table View. The corridor covers a distance of approximately 5 km from Marine Circle in the west to the intersection with Koeberg Road and Potsdam Road in the east.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An LSDF determines the development vision for an area on a local level. The City uses the framework for guidance when making decisions about development applications and land uses, and public investment choices. In the end these decisions very much determine what a neighbourhood will look and feel like a few years down the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Blockquote\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_8d89d12b\">\n<div class=\"text\">\u201cThe intention of the LSDF is to develop Blaauwberg Road into a thriving urban corridor with world-class destinations, walkable precincts and quality public spaces,\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;said Deputy Mayor and Mayco member for spatial planning and environment Eddie Andrews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Greater Table View Action Forum (GTAF) said via a social media post they asked for an extension of the 30 day public participation for the Blaauwberg Road LSDF.
