Stop signs have been installed at a set of faulty traffic lights in Richwood. The traffic lights, at the intersection of Tygerberg Valley Road (M13) and Giel Basson Drive (M12), have been out for several weeks now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the Subcouncil 3 meeting held on Thursday 19 September at the municipal offices in Royal Ascot, Milnerton, traffic officer Heinrich Blaauw stated that stop signs have been placed there to address the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The subcouncil was discussing the report for traffic services for the month of August when he shared the news with ward councillors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blaauw said the problem is with Eskom. \u201cThey have difficulty with power supply, but the City has indicated that it has alternative power supply,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At a previous meeting Cheryl Visser, councillor for Ward 1, said she witnessed a near accident at the intersection. Before the installation of the stop signs, motorists have been using it as a stop-and-go, on a first come, first go basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roxanne Moses, subcouncil manager, also said at the previous meeting that the matter had been brought to the subcouncil\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
