The two remaining candidates standing for Ward 8 in the upcoming municipal by-election on 23 October are Lindiwe Kunene for the ANC, and Sha-meemah Mohamed El Bana for the Truth and Solidarity Movement political party. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are to vie off against DA candidate Johann Loots and Capexit candidate Carla Lourens both reported on in previous editions TygerBurger. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kunene describes herself as young, vibrant and smart. <\/div>\n

A resident of Brackenfell, Kunene (34), was born and bread in Johannesburg, relocating to Cape Town in 2013 for career prospects in the finance and media world where she is involved in community radio broadcasting.Her interest in politics stems from her vision to see change in communities, in particular the role young people play in local politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe I am the right person to bring about improvement in community affairs. I would like to see the youth become more involved in their communities and local politics in order to understand the role they play in the economy and to shape their own future,\u201d she told TygerBurger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is my vision for Ward 8 in Brackenfell and Kuils River to encourage government to provide more opportunities for the youth. Our hope, and the outlook for our country lies in our youth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sha-meemah Mohamed El Bana spent her life fighting for justice. <\/div>\n

Mohamed El Bana was born in Cape Town in 1976 and is mother of two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe spent her whole life fighting for justice, and is officially starting her political life in Brackenfell as Ward 8 representative of the Truth and Solidarity Movement political party,\u201d says president of the party, Mehmed Vefa Daga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If elected, El Bana will strive to create political renewal in Cape Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Truth and Solidarity Movement will take Brackenfell step by step towards becoming a livable, peaceful ward that looks to the future with confidence. Brackenfell will be introduced to fair order, the door of the ward office will be open to everyone.\u201d She is currently in the process of moving to Brackenfell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
