With the support of the Ward councillor, Jonathan Mills, McDonogh hired a team of workers to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers, turning the barren field into a lush green oasis. Benches, walking paths, a bridge and gym equipment were added to ensure the park caters to people of all ages and interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to create a space where residents could relax, connect with nature, and come together as a community. We are still very much busy and have big plans for the space,\u201d says McDonogh. \u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see how the park has brought people together and become a symbol of what can be achieved when we work as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-residents-taking-ownership\">Residents taking ownership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The City also provided water for the project, ensuring the newly planted greenery would thrive. During rainy days, the park comes alive with an extra charm as ducks visit the ponds that form underneath the bridge, adding a serene touch to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mills commended the group\u2019s efforts, noting the significant impact the park will have on improving the quality of life in the area. \u201cThis project is a shining example of how residents can take ownership of their community spaces and make a real difference,\u201d Mills says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local residents have already begun enjoying the park, taking quiet strolls along the pathways.
