New multilingual portal makes it easier for Capetonians to have their say on local developments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Cape Town has launched an enhanced online platform designed to facilitate resident participation in municipal decision-making processes, with new features aimed at improving accessibility and user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The refreshed Collaboration Platform, enables residents to share ideas, comment on proposed developments and participate in consultation processes on matters ranging from local infrastructure projects to city-wide policies and budget planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are calling on our residents to register on the City’s Collaboration Platform,” said Mayco member for Corporate Services Theresa Uys, “which is a convenient and easy-to-use platform where one can share ideas that could shape various aspects of Cape Town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Residents can also partake in City campaigns that are relevant to them and provide comments on the various plans and projects out for public participation. We need input from our residents, their insights and ideas are key to shaping our future in this beautiful city.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The upgraded platform includes several new features designed to improve user experience. The site is now available in all three of the City’s official languages \u2013 English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa \u2013 broadening accessibility across Cape Town’s diverse communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A “For You” section provides customised content based on users’ location and interests, while a project phases system allows residents to track the progress of local developments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An updated events section provides information about public meetings, including direct links to virtual sessions. The platform provides access for ward-committee members, community organisations and individual residents to engage with proposed City initiatives. These include consultations on local developments, renaming processes, draft bylaws and strategic-planning initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
