Three men were arrested on Monday night for an alleged shooting in Hanover Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Const Ndakhe Gwala of the police\u2019s provincial media office, the men had allegedly been involved in a shooting in Hanover Park at about 20:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle linked to the shooting, a silver VW Jetta, was later spotted at a garage in Lentegeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Lentegeur Police Station spokesperson, Const Navon van Houten, the garage was at Watergate Mall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gwala says Maitland flying squad responded and cornered the men. Upon searching the vehicles, officers found three guns, two of which had no serial numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe officers also recovered 107 rounds of ammunition. The suspects were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition,\u201d Gwala said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men, aged between 18 and 31, were held at Lentegeur Police Station, Van Houten said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gwala confirmed that they appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court this morning (18 February).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
