The City of Cape Town has announced another traffic-lane switch in AZ Berman Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lane shift, which forms part of its MyCiTi infrastructure upgrades, will take place on the carriageway between Sesame Street and Highlands Drive. It is scheduled for 6 February, although this date may be affected by weather or other unforeseen delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the switch traffic will move from the current northbound lane towards Cape Town to the newly completed southbound lane towards Khayelitsha. Vehicles will travel in both directions using two lanes in each direction, with cones and road markings separating the lanes and guiding drivers through the work zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City has assured all legally-approved access will remain open throughout the construction period. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time. Lobelia Hall closure <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ward 76 councillor Avron Plaatjies has informed the community that Lobelia Hall in Woodlands will remain closed until further notice following an accident over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A vehicle drove into the facility’s fence, affecting the main water supply and leaving the facility without water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City has taken the decision to close the hall to ensure safety and allow for necessary repairs. The community will be updated as new information becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Low water pressure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Plaatjies also warned that residents in Lentegeur and Woodlands should prepare for low water pressure next week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that planned water supply maintenance would affect the areas on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 from 09:00 to 18:00. In these periods residents may experience low water pressure or no water at all as the City undertakes essential maintenance on the bulk water supply pipeline, Plaatjies said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
