The City of Cape Town has commenced with the resurfacing of selected sections of Akkerboom Road in Belhar and Robert Sobukwe Road in Bellville South and in Montana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday 28 November, subject to weather conditions and potential unforeseen delays. Work will be carried out from 19:00 to 05:30, Mondays to Fridays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The City is carrying this routine maintenance work out to ensure we keep Cape Town moving on good-quality roads,” said Mayco Member for Urban Mobility Rob Quintas. “In Belhar, Bellville South and Montana the work will include laying a new asphalt surface, replacing damaged kerbs and reinstating all road markings affected during the process. We thank residents and road users for their patience and cooperation over the coming weeks as we work to improve road conditions in our communities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The works will be implemented along the following road corridors: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Belhar, between Robert Sobukwe Road and the graveyard entrance on Akkerboom Avenue; Bellville South, between Belcon Road and Symphony Way in Robert Sobukwe Road (eastbound); Montana, and between Valhalla Drive and King Air Boulevard in Robert Sobukwe (westbound).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City of Cape Town\u2019s Urban Mobility Directorate advised road users to exercise caution while work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to observe all road signs, remain alert in and around the construction area, be mindful of on-site workers, and allow for additional travel time or make use of alternative routes where possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
