A joint operation by Durbanville SAPS and private security company Titanium Securitas led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the recovery of drug-related items in Fisantekraal on Saturday 6 June.

According to Durbanville police station commander, Colonel Gonum Munsamy, officers conducted the operation in the Fisantekraal informal settlement between 20:00 and 04:00.

During the search, police recovered 92 tik straws.

One suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in drugs.

Police confirmed that the suspect was not armed at the time of the arrest.

In a separate incident last weekend, residents of Morningstar applauded the arrest of two suspects after police seized more than 200 Mandrax tablets at a local property.

Police have encouraged residents to continue working with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activity and information related to the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.
