ChoirFest hosts ‘Passion ChoralFest’ at Hugo Lambrechts

ChoirFest Productions is marking its fifth anniversary with an ambitious choral celebration that promises to captivate local music lovers this Easter season.

The organisation will present Passion ChoralFest 2026 on Sunday 12 April at 16:00 at the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium in Parow.

The unique event brings together five local choirs and musical duo Babette & Olga to tell the story of Christ’s Passion through song.

Immersive experience

The immersive choral experience will take audiences through the biblical narrative from humanity’s cry for deliverance to the triumph of the resurrection.

Organisers promise a compelling blend of classical, contemporary, and traditional African choral works, enhanced by striking visual artwork and performances in multiple languages.

This concert weaves together diverse musical styles into one powerful narrative.

Choirs

Five accomplished choirs will grace the stage: Cape Town Camerata under Leon Starker’s direction, Tygerberg City Choir led by Peter Roux, Vivox Voices conducted by Maria Viviers, DF Akademie Kamerkoor: DF Dynamics with Jade Paige, and Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck Senior Koor, also under Leon Starker.
