Mother Teresa taught us that we alone cannot change the world, but we can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples and this is exactly what Leonah Tshuma (17) from Nkqubela is doing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tshuma wants to get her school involved in local soup kitchens and aiding those in need of everyday basics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The matric learner and head prefect of Robertson Logos Christian School shares her vision for the school under her leadership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of the most important goals of Robertson Logos Christian School is raising students with \u201cservant-like\u201d hearts. With that being said as Head Prefect, I plan on getting the school involved with soup kitchens and outreaches. There are a lot of people in this community that may not have their basic needs taken care of and it is up to us to offer the little that we have to make a difference in someone else\u2019s life.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leonah\u2019s parents inspire her to be a better version of herself and have taught her that every obstacle she may face in life brings her one step closer to achieving her dream. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy dream from a young age is to someday be part of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff, saving a baby\u2019s life and placing a smile on a mother\u2019s face one day at a time.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further explains, \u201cNo pain is equivalent to that of a woman that carries a baby for 32 \u2013 36 weeks only for it to be pronounced dead during or after labour.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leonah plans to study medicine at the University of Stellenbosch as she hopes to master the neonatal sector in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She offers a word of advice to her fellow matriculants in the Langeberg region: \u201cTo the Matrics of 2022, may you all remain focused and dedicated to your schoolwork and remember that this is your final year, make the most out of it.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
