Look at God (LAG) clothing label founder Yandisa Magagana will host a music awards ceremony to give back to the community of Lwandle and surrounding areas on 27 February at Drama Factory in Halfway, Somerset West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magagana said he hopes the event, entitled Look at God Music Awards, will take music in the area to further heights and inspire other aspirant artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The awards will have 17 categories and 50 people have been nominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their categories vary from best choir of the year to song of the year, best DJ, best newcomer and best male and females, to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magagana\u2019s music is loved in the area and this was his way of showing appreciation especially to the youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have received so much support for my clothing line, and most of the support come from the music lovers in this area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, in a way, this is giving back to the same community that has supported me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have a lot of talented youngsters in Lwandle, and this event will give them a platform to shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy these awards we are showing our appreciation, and we want the public to support them in future.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magagana said calls were made to the public to nominate people in the area they wanted to see awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voting has taken place since November for favourite artist and group before closing on Friday 14 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday 15 January LAG hosted a fundraiser for the awards at Fezeka Community Hall in Nomzamo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magagana said the fundraiser was well attended and was an immense success, with people coming out in droves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
