On Sunday 20 March at 18:30 a business robbery took place at Easter Dragon Shop in Hope Street, Robertson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFour unknown males entered the shop and one of them pointed a firearm at the complainant and took him to the back of the shop,\u201d related Robertson police spokesperson Warrant Officer Blackie Swart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects made off with cigarettes and money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen the complainant phoned the police the suspects ran off,\u201d Swart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another business robbery took place on Saturday 26 March at 21:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The robbery rook place at Wazup Salon at 5 Enthlango Street in Nqkubela, Robertson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo unknown males entered the salon,\u201d Swart related. \u201cOne of the men had a firearm in his hand and pointed it at the staff in the salon. He ordered them to sit on the ground. The staff were then all searched by the other suspect.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The staff and salon were robbed of money, hair clippers and cellphones with a collective value of R8 900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate incident on Saturday 26 March, a barbershop in Nkqubela was robbed at 21:54.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThree unknown men entered the shop,\u201d Swart said. \u201cOne of them pointed a firearm at the owner and demanded money and cellphones. The owner told the men he had no money and he was subsequently shot in the leg by one of the suspects. The co-owner then forced the men out of the shop with a chair and they fled the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Robertson police would also like to warn the public to be wary when selling vehicles online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you sell your vehicle on the internet ensure the money is transferred into your bank account before handing the vehicle over to the person buying it,\u201d they warn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe modus operandi of scammers is that they show you a false SMS that the money was transferred into your account, but the money was really not.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Make doubly sure everything is in order and that the money reflects in your account before handing your vehicle over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
