Local Langeberg choir sensation the Zolani Youth Choir again had the audience on their feet with their performance at the 6th Choral Celebration Festival in Cape Town. The event comprised well-known conductors who have competed at world-class levels nationally and internationally in the choral space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is amazing to find a choir from Zolani among such esteemed choirs,\u201d says conductor Odwa Mvunge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is the second year in which the choir had taken part in the festival. In 2019 the choir also received standing ovations for the items they presented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year was no different, many attesting that the choir had stolen the show with their magnificent sound and energetic African choreography. Esteemed conductors sent messages of encouragement to the choir congratulating it for its consistency and performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The festival, which took place at the Cape Town City Hall, was sold-out, with an audience that clearly appreciated the remarkable choral performances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are excited to be one of the tourist attractions in our community, as we were recently featured on the programme Kw\u00eala<\/i> on kykNet in a mini-documentary about Montagu being the Western Cape\u2019s \u2018Dorp van die Jaar<\/i>\u2019 finalist,\u201d said Mvunge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur motto is to tell African stories through African sound, making Zolani in Ashton the local trademark of choral excellence, giving hope to the artistic child, preaching a message that ability will never be dictated by circumstance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will not let the social ills of our community limit our excellence and ability. We would like to thank all those who sponsored the choir to attend the festival, as we all know that without capital nothing can be achieved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank you for your undying support. We remain accepting children wishing to sing who are in the Langeberg area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the choir to advance its programme\u2019s financial support is needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
