{"id":49108,"date":"2022-08-10T21:41:15","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T19:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/swartlandgazette\/garlic-cheddar-pasta-bake-20220808-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T00:24:15","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T22:24:15","slug":"garlic-cheddar-pasta-bake-20220808-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/swartlandgazette\/garlic-cheddar-pasta-bake-20220808-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Garlic, cheddar pasta bake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This delicious pasta bake has a crunchy and slightly sweet topping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n <b>Ingredients<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>500 ml chicken \u2013 cooked<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>250 ml mixed vegetables \u2013 frozen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 garlic cloves \u2013 finely chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>330 ml cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 bread \u2013 slices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>250 ml white cheddar \u2013 grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30 ml butter \u2013 melted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>200 g linguine \u2013 cooked<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30 ml honey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n <b>Method:<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat the oven to 180\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove the cooked chicken from the bones. Discard the skin and bones and shred the chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a saucepan, combine the chicken, vegetables, garlic and cream and heat through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a blender, blitz the bread into crumbs and transfer it into a small bowl. Add 60 ml (\u00bc cup) cheese and the butter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the pasta and remaining cheese to the hot chicken mixture. Heat, while stirring, until the mixture starts to bubble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spoon into a casserole dish. Top with the breadcrumb mixture and drizzle with honey.
