{"id":45469,"date":"2023-10-31T06:01:15","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T04:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/swartlandgazette\/verkragter-nog-nie-agter-tralies-20231030-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T13:14:34","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T11:14:34","slug":"verkragter-nog-nie-agter-tralies-20231030-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/swartlandgazette\/verkragter-nog-nie-agter-tralies-20231030-2\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Verkragter\u2019 nog nie agter tralies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u2019n Voormalige inwoner van Malmesbury het die afgelope Woensdag (25 Oktober) in die landdroshof in Malmesbury verskyn nadat hy in 2021 die eerste keer op aanklagte van verkragting in die hof verskyn het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die beskuldigde word daarvan aangekla dat hy vier minderjarige kinders onder die ouderdomme van 12 jaar oud verkrag het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drie van die vier slagoffers is na wat verneem word familie van hom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die beskuldigde het volgens betogers skuld op alle aanklagte erken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navrae oor die saak is aan die nasionale vervolgingsgesag gerig, maar hulle kon nie teen druktyd kommentaar lewer nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van die betogers wat die saak volg, volstaan dat die slagoffers \u2019n sterk saak teen die beskuldigde het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die verdagte is n\u00e1 sy eerste hofverskyning in 2021 vrygelaat nadat die hof aanvanklik besluit het die adres waar die voorvalle plaasgevind het, val nie onder Malmesbury nie. Die hof het daarna beslis dat die betrokke gebied wel onder die jurisdiksie van Malmesbury val. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die betogers het Woensdag gehoop om druk op die hof te plaas sodat die beskuldigde in hegtenis geneem sal word en in aanhouding sal bly totdat die saak verhoor word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die saak is tot 7 November uitgestel, waartydens landdros Phakama Madinda sal besluit of die beskuldigde in hegtenis geneem sal word. Volgens die betogers is dit \u2019n skande dat die regstelsel dit toelaat dat \u2019n \u201cselferkende verkragter\u201d vandag steeds buite vry loop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingevolge wet mag die beskuldigde se naam nie bekendgemaak word nie, omdat \u2019n familieverwantskap tussen hom en die minderjarige slagoffers bestaan en hulle nie ge\u00efdentifiseer mag word
