This month sees the launch of the first ever McGregor Open Gardens event, which will be held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The theme of the event, hosted by McGregor Tourism, will be \u201cNature\u2019s Magic\u201d and it will feature 12 gardens, as well as community food projects and a herb farm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will also be specialist horticultural features and talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLeiwater\u201d historically provided irrigation to the gardens, with sluices still in use today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The private gardens include indigenous semi-Karoo and more formal planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be demonstrations on organic food gardens and perma\u00adculture, while \u201cArt in the Garden\u201d will be displayed at Temenos Retreat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Refreshments on sale will include locally grown herb teas and home baking; eateries will also offer special menus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitors can take a stroll through the village or hop on the wooden Noddy bus. Entertainment will be provided by the village brass band. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
