Elanza van Lente, Toerisme-beampte van die Namakwa Nasionale Park, meen die goeie re\u00ebnval vroeg in Februarie was ongewoon. Dit is opgevolg met \u2019n goeie neerslag in Maart en April en dit kan daartoe lei dat die blomme vroe\u00ebr as gewoonlik gaan blom.<\/p>\n

Van Lente s\u00ea vir die eerste keer het \u2019n paar blomme n\u00e1 die re\u00ebn verskyn, maar gelukkig nie die blommeprag wat tradisioneel in Augustus en September verwag word nie. Die blomme kan wel vanaf einde Julie reeds begin kop uitsteek. Die blomme in die parke se kusgebiede blom langer weens die vogtige toestande.<\/p>\n

Die kusgedeelte tussen die Groen- en Spoegrivier vertoon \u2019n verskeidenheid van kleure, van wit na blou en selfs helder pienk. Gewoonlik is die oorheersende kleur van die Skilpad-afdeling oranje madeliefies. Namakwaland is die tuiste van die rykste verskeidenheid flora van enige dorre streek in die w\u00eareld. Meer as 1 000 van die geskatte 3 500 plantspesies kom slegs in hierdie streek voor.<\/p>\n
