Die prentjie het in 1976 verander met die Judgment of Paris blinde wynproe in Frankryk en skielik het Chardonnay in die internasionale kollig gestaan.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_149775\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-149775\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-149775\" src=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/rooirose\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/rr-450x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-149775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gaste kon voor die amptelike opening en proe, vonkelwyn buite onder die bome voor die Jordan restaurant geniet.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chardonnay het in die 80\u2019s onder interessante omstandighede in Suid-Afrika aangekom, met stories van Jan Boland Coetzee en Danie de Wet wat steggies van Boergondi\u00eb ingesmokkel het. Destyds was die skaarsheid van die kultivar verantwoordelik vir baie goeie pryse aan produsente.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maar toe val die bodem uit, want met oorvloed kom verveeldheid en die \u201cAnything But Chardonnay\u201d-beweging wat mense heeltemal van die kultivar vervreem het. Michael het ges\u00ea die w\u00eareld het rede gehad om hul rug op Chardonnay te draai, want die wyne was hopeloos te veel gehout, nie heeltemal droog nie en ook baie pronkerig en dit het groot skade vir die beeld van Chardonnay berokken.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">En om alles te kroon, kom mense toe agter hoe lekker Suid-Afrikaanse Chenin blanc kan wees. \u201cVeral mense wat nie van Sauvignon blanc \u00f3f gehoute wyne hou nie, het regtig hul fokus geskuif.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Michael het ges\u00ea maar gelukkig het Chardonnay geduldig gewag vir sy oomblik in die son.
