Vlam hoofstuk 50: Misterie<\/h4>\n

Dis vir Niekie \u2018n verligting toe haar pa en \u2018n paar\u00a0 van sy ou buddies op die filmstel opdaag. Sy het haar pa nodig.<\/p>\n

Op die oomblik voel dit of almal teen haar gekant is. Duard groet haar net hoflik en sy het al gewoond geraak aan Melissa se vyandige blikke.<\/p>\n

Henk bly ook uit haar pad en blykbaar is die res van die rolprentspan ook lugtig vir haar.<\/p>\n

Altans, so dink sy.<\/p>\n

Sy soek die karavaan waarin haar pa gaan slaap. Sy het regtig \u2018n lekker vaderlike drukkie nodig.<\/p>\n

Voor sy om die hoek kom, hoor sy haar pa praat.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk weet dit gaan vir jou moeilik wees, ou seun, maar jy moet dit doen. Dit is al hoe jy vrede sal kan maak met die situasie. Ek sal by jou wees. Dit sal vir my ook belangrik wees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sy hou nie daarvan om af te luister nie, maar sy herken Duard se stem, en hy praat Afrikaans met haar pa! Sy ruik al lankal \u2018n rot oor Duard se foutlose aksent. Nou hoor sy hoe hy \u2018n foutlose Afrikaanse gesprek met haar pa voer en dit is beslis nie deel van sy rol nie!<\/p>\n

\u201cOom Niek, ek waardeer wat jy vir my doen. Ek is hier om vrede te maak met my verlede. Ek kan dit nie altyd so saamsleep nie. Dit vreet aan my. Ek is bly ek kan saam met oom deur die ding gaan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ongelukkig onderbreek \u2018n lid van die rolprentspan die gesprek, maar Niekie wil haar pa en Duard wys sy is bewus van hul vreeslike broederskap.<\/p>\n

\u201cEn toe? Waaroor gesels julle twee so lekker? Duard, kry jy tips<\/em> om \u2018n soldaat te wees?\u201d<\/p>\n

Haar pa probeer keer.<\/p>\n

\u201cNiekie, kom ons hou dinge vreedsaam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maar Duard het die aas gesluk.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk leer by die beste, Niekie. Jou pa is \u2018the real thing\u2019<\/em> en ek sal graag wil hoor hoe hy die grensoolog oomblik vir oomblik beleef het.\u201d<\/p>\n

Niekie wil haarself bedwing, maar sy is op die aanval.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk dog julle twee het al baie oor die oorlog gepraat? Sjoe, Pa moet net hoor hoe oulik praat Duard al Afrikaans!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sy weet haar woorde gaan die twee effe ruk.<\/p>\n

Duard is vinnig met \u2018n antwoord.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk en Melissa het juis die afgelope week baie aan ons Afrikaanse lyne geoefen. Ek geniet dit nogal. Veral die romantiese lyne. Soos ek in ons onderhoud genoem het, ek hou daarvan om my in my rolle in te leef. As ek \u2018n soldaat speel, wil ek \u2018n soldaat in murg en bloed wees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Niekie se tong is skerp geslyp.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk glo jy gaan jou ook in die romantiese tonele met Melissa kan inleef? Julle twee oefen mos so hard?\u201d<\/p>\n

Duard lag moedswillig.<\/p>\n

\u201cJa, ons oefen en oefen. Dit is al hoe mens die beste uit die tonele kan kry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Die vlamme in Niekie se nek verraai haar. Haar pa sien dit raak en Duard kyk dit ook nie mis nie. Haar pa probeer die plofbare situasie ontlont.<\/p>\n

\u201cEk en Duard bespreek juis nou \u2018n paar tonele. Ons gaan saam \u2018n recce doen na een van die tonele waar ons gaan skiet. Dit is nodig om die emosie van die toneel te gaan ervaar voor hulle gaan skiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Niekie kan die misterieuse broederskap tussen haar pa en die akteur nie verstaan nie. Daar is iets geheimsinnig tussen die twee en dit maak haar grensloos jaloers. Hoe durf die man wat haar so sleg behandel het so buddy-buddy<\/em> met haar pa wees? Wil hy haar pa teen haar draai? Sy kon nog altyd haar liefdesprobleme met haar pa bespreek en nou is haar hart gebreek en kan sy nie die verpestelike man met haar pa bespreek nie! Haar lewe het in \u2018n nagmerrie ontaard vandat sy die eerste keer van die simpel fliek gehoor het! Sy moet probeer om uit te vind wat tussen haar pa en Duard aan die gang is.<\/p>\n

\u201cO, mag ek saam gaan op julle recce?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sy kan sien die twee mans is onkant gevang.<\/p>\n

\u201cEe, nee, ons het beplan om alleen te gaan. Net \u2018n paar van ons manne.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haar pa se gebruik van die woord \u201cmanne\u201d laat haar bloed kook.<\/p>\n

\u201cO, ek sien. Net die manne? Dis mos net die manne wat \u2018n rol gespeel het in hierdie storie? Is Melissa se rol dan ondergeskik aan joune, Duard?\u00a0 Het jy haar al ges\u00ea?\u201d<\/p>\n

Niek Branders kyk verstom na sy dogter se aanval op die filmster.<\/p>\n

\u201cEn nou, hoekom is my meisiekind so kwaai vandag?\u201d<\/p>\n

Dis die gaping waarvoor Duard gewag het.<\/p>\n

\u201cJa, kol. Branders, dis \u2018n kwaai vroumens wat jy grootgemaak het. Ek trap maar lig in haar teenwoordigheid. As daai nekkie eers\u00a0 so rooi vlam, weet ek, hier kom groot moeilikheid!\u201d<\/p>\n

Tot Niekie se ergenis lag haar pa en Duard heerlik oor hulle grappie. Sy ruk haar om en marsjeer weg. Terwyl sy wegstap, hoor sy die twee mans lag.<\/p>\n

Dis tyd om \u2018n kruiepilletjie te gaan sluk, anders gaan sy haar humeur verloor en boonop haar werk verloor!<\/p>\n

Sy gaan staan ver van die karavane onder die bome en stoom afblaas.<\/p>\n

Sy wip soos sy skrik as sy \u2018n geritsel agter haar hoor.<\/p>\n

Sy draai om.<\/p>\n

Melissa!<\/p>\n

\u201cWat maak jy hier in die bosse? Het hulle jou nie gewaarsku dat hier slange is nie?\u201d<\/p>\n

Melissa se o\u00eb raak donker van woede.<\/p>\n

\u201cJa, hulle het my gewaarsku, en weet jy, jy is die gevaarlikste slang wat ek vandag raakgeloop het!\u201d<\/p>\n
