Glenthorn A\u2019s outplayed Tantasport in the Cape Town Softball Association\u2019s League 1 Knockout competition, running out easy 12-3 winners at Turfhall Softball Stadium on Sunday 13 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\u2019s dominated the game with 14 hits which included two home runs from Courtney Stevens and Chaunees Goliath. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Codlin Korasie was the top performer with the bat recording a 3-4 statistic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roxanne Albertyn and Meghan Fillmore shared the pitching duties for Tanta, giving up a total of 14 hits from the 33 batters they faced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiana Tobin on the pitching rubber for A\u2019s gave up seven hits from the 26 batters she faced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only batting of note by Tanta was from Kathryn van Boom (2-3). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khayelitsha Eagles had a no-show against Lavender Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday 12 February Falcons stayed close on the heels of leaders, Lavender Hill, with an 8-2 victory over Tantasport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercedes March (18), in her debut senior season, continued her great form with the bat, recording another super offensive display (2-3). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equalling, the batting prowess of the youngster was stalwart, Bettina Blows, with the same statistic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Fortuin was, however, in perfect form with a 100% record (3-3). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meghan Fillmore performed the pitching duties for Tanta, giving up 11 hits while her counterpart, Amy Minnies, surrendered four hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lavender Hill moved further away from closest rivals, Kenfac Phillies, when they beat them 6-3 in League 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lavender Hill pitchers, Hayley Vorster and Chesternay, gave up a single hit to Zoe Isaacs who cleared the boundary in the last inning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strandfontein Mets, meanwhile, won their first game of the season when they beat St. Augustines 10-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
