After two days of play at the Junior National Baseball Championship at Bothasig Baseball Club, teams are jostling for places in the finals tomorrow (30 March). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the u\/18 division, Western Cape A and Gauteng A are unbeaten with Limpopo being the surprise package. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Limpopo beat Gauteng C and tied seven-all against Western Cape B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the first round, teams will split into a top three and a bottom three who will play another round. The top two teams will play the final, while the bottom three will play for overall positions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the u\/15 division, Western Cape A holds a two-point advantage over arch-rival Gauteng A. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eight teams will play a single round before the top 4 contest semi-final and final, and the bottom four play for positions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the u\/12 division, the five teams will play a double round with the top team going to the final automatically. Positions two and three will have a play-off game to see who will play position one in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Cape A holds a two-point lead over Gauteng A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The u\/10 division plays the same format as the u\/12 division, with Gauteng A having the upper hand in this age group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women\u2019s baseball is reclaiming their space, which was last seen in 2016, at a junior level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be an u\/16 girls\u2019 and senior ladies\u2019 division who are participating until Friday 1 April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The u\/16 participants are Winelands, Gauteng Angels and Cape Town Baseball Federation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The senior participants are Winelands, Cape Town Baseball Federation, together with Gryphons and Dodgers from Gauteng. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
South African Baseball Union (Sabu) will send a senior women\u2019s team to participate in an international tournament next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
