The body of a man reported missing after taking an Uber to Muizenberg was found washed up at Sunrise Beach on Monday 16 May. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Tazneem Mononoke, a family member of Muzzamiel Hoosain, the 24-year-old was last seen on Friday 13 May. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an urgent public plea, made on social media on Friday 13 May, she asked for assistance in finding Hoosain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDear Muizenbergers, a family member, Muzzamiel Hoosain, took an Uber to Muizenberg last night (13 May) and got off at Royal Road. He did not return home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHis bag with personal belongings and cellphone were found this morning by a walker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease, any information can help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Mononoke, Hoosain\u2019s bag was found on Sunrise Beach while his phone showed his last location to be in Royal Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muizenberg Police Station commander Col Vassie Naidoo said the body of an unidentified man washed up at Sunrise Beach on Monday 16 May. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMuizenberg police can confirm that the unknown body of a man washed up at Sunrise beach on Monday 16 May. The cause of death is unknown at this stage and an inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the body was later positively identified to be that of Hoosain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe body was identified as Muzzamil Hoosain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
