The College of Magic\u2019s Children\u2019s Magic Festival returns to the Mother City from Wednesday 13 to Saturday 16 July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Themed witches, wizards and magical creatures, the school holiday event offers four days of spellbinding entertainment at the college\u2019s Victorian manor in Claremont. Young witches, wizards and their families are invited to dress up to the theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The festival, one of the college\u2019s major fundraising events each year, has been entertaining Capetonians since 1994.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, festivalgoers can look forward to a wizarding magic show performed by the college\u2019s young entertainers as well as a self-guided tour through the college\u2019s century-old mansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will also be opportunities for festivalgoers to enjoy jugglers, clowns and puppeteers as well as learn a few wizarding secrets or show off their gaming prowess at the \u201cCarnival of Wonders\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Audiences will experience all the action safely with a socially distanced seating format in their indoor performance area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The College of Magic, a non-profit organisation and the only one of its kind in the world, celebrates 42 years of teaching the theatrical performing art of magic and its allied arts as well as vital life-skills to children this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chad Findlay, the College of Magic\u2019s Creative Director, says the organisation is thrilled to have the opportunity to reinvigorate the Children\u2019s Magic Festival experience each year for young audiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs you step into our magical mansion you are transported into a different world, and this year\u2019s theme leans into that perfectly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are so excited to welcome all the young witches, wizards and magical creatures back to the festival for a wonderful experience that they will cherish,\u201d says Findlay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The festival will be held at the College of Magic, 215 Imam Haron Road in Claremont, with the 75-minute show programme running daily at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 14:00, with additional performances at 15:00 on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Festival tickets, which can be booked at Quicket, are available from R120 per person and will be sold in groups of four or five for family bookings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
