Grassy Park teen Nuha Shah (14) walked away with top honours in the 2022 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi last week, becoming the first SA athlete to win gold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) SA made the announcement on Thursday 18 August. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCongratulations to our young athlete Nuha Shah who won gold in the Female Youth B 48 kg division. She becomes the first South African athlete to receive a gold medal in the Youth World Championships. \u201cTruly an inspiration for the future of South Africa in the sport of MMA.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pelican Park High School praised the teenager for her remarkable achievement on social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCongratulations to Pelican Park High School\u2019s Nuha Shah on becoming the Under 14 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World Champion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe young Pelican is a Grade 8 learner and while she\u2019s excelling in the classroom, she\u2019s gone on to raise the South African flag high by grabbing gold in Abu Dhabi.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
