And as a non-profit organisation (NPO), the club relies on donations to do its work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs part of the largest service organisation in the world Lions Clubs International, we concentrate our projects around hunger alleviation, diabetes awareness, conservation of the environment, assisting with improving the lives of the vision impaired and providing support for the needs of children and families affected by childhood cancer,\u201d says Bevil Lakay, spokesperson for the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Images\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_0543e9cb\">\n<div class=\"slide\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-smallsrc=\"https:\/\/cdn.24.co.za\/files\/Cms\/General\/d\/7801\/f7233fdcde0d49c483ee6885d35ebe3f.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peoplespost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/081909de9ae742deba65dada8ec6ec17.jpg\" title=\"Members of the Mitchell\u2019s Plain Lions Club and nursing staff at Mitchell\u2019s Plain Hospital with a bag filled with goodies for mom and baby. The needs in our communities are great and it\u2019s not always easy to assist all. But we do as much as we can with the resources we have,\u201d he says.They are looking forward to hosting their Environmental Bag-a-Burger project next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe and children of a particular neighbourhood in Mitchell\u2019s Plain clean up the area. We provide the children with a burger and also a talk on how to conserve their environment. This will be the first event in the new year,\u201d Lakay says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><s1>\u00a0<\/s1>For more information about their projects email
