Ward 60 councillor Mark Kleinschmidt would like to extend a helping hand to even more victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday 19 March, the fire destroyed the Queen Bess Road home, leaving the home owners and tenants destitute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kleinschmidt then called on locals to assist the victims and facilitated the drop-off of items at his office in Lansdowne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a handover for these victims, there is still a large number of clothing items in varying sizes, says Kleinschmidt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cResidents from Ward 60 donated (following the fire in Kenwyn),\u201d says Kleinschmidt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is why he specifically calls on victims of other fires who may need clothing as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c(It was donated for the fire victims), hence the reason for donating to (other) fire victims. A substantial amount of goods was handed to the 19 fire victims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere are (still) a variety of sizes, mainly adult sizes for men and women,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe clothing will be distributed according to their needs. Fire victims from the broader vicinity of the Cape Peninsula, especially, are encouraged to contact the Ward 60 Office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
