So says West End Primary School principal Clive Arries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the 10th anniversary of the literary organisation, at the school today (19 September), Arries described Read to Rise as a lighthouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-governmental organisation was founded by author Athol Williams and his wife, Tarryn Lock, to combat the literacy crisis in Mitchell\u2019s Plain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They authored the Oaky range of books which have been provided free of charge to primary school learners in the foundation phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
