With more than 40 years experience in show business both
\nlocally and internationally, his next show promises to be a hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not only will he take to the stage, but he will also be
\njoined by talented local artists, catering to all genres and ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Osman Abrahams, known by his stage name Mr A1 Da Sting, will
\npresent Zhowmix at the Joseph Stone Auditorium in Athlone on Saturday 7
\nOctober, covering all genres such as RnB and even cabaret. The show will
\nfeature local talent including a dance group, vocalists and two Michael Jackson
\nimpersonators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI decided to call it Zhowmix because there is something for
\neveryone. It really is a mix of genres and performances,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abrahams comes from a musical family and discovered his
\nsinging ability at the age of four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy brothers would push me around in a \u201cwaantjie\u201d (box cart
\nwagon) and have me perform for people, but they would take all the money,\u201d he
\njokes. \u201cIt was then that I discovered I have the vocal chord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With his father a maestro able to play various instruments,
\nit is a gene that has been passed on to the next generations, giving birth to a
\nvariety of music groups including A4 \u2013 with his children, A2 \u2013 his son and his
\nwife, and now also 3 Generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I left for New Zealand we were no longer A4, my son
\nand his wife formed A2 and were the top duet group, performing all over,\u201d he
\nsays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am A1 Da Sting because when people hear my voice, I want
\nthem to be stung and remember it. I kept it in the As because we are the
\nAbrahams,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a descant voice, he has been able to diversify his
\nmusic and reach notes traditionally sung by sopranos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf they put a curtain up, you would think it is a woman
\nsinging. I still have it because I keep fit and healthy,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since then, he has travelled to New Zealand as a music
\ndirector and trained some of South Africa\u2019s biggest stars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey could not believe the skills. I would go into a room
\nwith a few items and come out with full beats and songs. It is just a skill I
\nhave to be able to write,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One such song is \u201cCrazy\u201d, which has recently been released
\nand is available on Spotify along with a few other tracks. The song chronicles
\nhis love and feelings for his wife, Nadeema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
