These interventions will cause delays, and road users are encouraged to use alternative routes, or factor in additional travelling time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, the City commenced with major construction work along Turfhall Road from the intersection with the M5 freeway in the west to the intersection with Castor and Benona roads in the east.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The impacted section is 1,7 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/news24\/community-newspaper\/peoples-post\/read-the-latest-print-edition-of-the-peoples-post-here-20240913-3\" target=\"_blank\">The latest print edition of the People\u2019s Post here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pending any delays or unforeseen challenges, the project will be complete by July 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work is currently taking place on Turfhall Road median island, from the intersection with Castor and Benona roads through to the M5, to prepare the area for the construction of the two dedicated bus lanes that will be located in the median of Turfhall Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next phase of the construction work requires temporary lane diversions, and the implementation of a four-way stop street.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"InfoBlock\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_33bb324f\">\n<div class=\"heading\">These measures will be implemented in coming days and are effective until July next year:<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<ul>\n<li>The lane diversions will be implemented along Turfhall Road between the M5 freeway and the intersection with Castor and Benona roads.<\/li>\n<li>The westbound lanes serving traffic towards the M5 freeway will be closed to traffic.<\/li>\n<li>The westbound traffic will be diverted along two new lanes within the old centre median.<\/li>\n<li>Dual traffic lanes will be accommodated in both directions.<\/li>\n<li>A four-way stop street will be implemented along Turfhall Road at the intersection with Civic Road and Woodbury Road.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary public transport stops will be implemented along the reconfigured road.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary walkways and pedestrian crossings will be implemented as well.<\/li>\n<li>The implementation of the lane diversions will be undertaken in phases over coming days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul
