What he needed most was a friend. I first met him in 2012 when he was homeless, and for years, my family and I supported him in every way we could. While many appreciated his music and celebrity, I helped because of the person he was.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy wife and I provided care and guidance, ensuring he was presentable and well-cared-for, and we discussed everything from politics to philosophy.
