The initiative is about more than just presents \u2013 it\u2019s about nurturing a sense of belonging and giving back to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-excitement\">Excitement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach year, we see the excitement on these children\u2019s faces as they join us for a day that\u2019s all about them,\u201d shares Jules Flanagan of the Tokai Lions Club. \u201cThe Safripol Toy Campaign has been such a blessing, enabling us to give each child a beautifully upcycled toy from Santa himself. For many, it\u2019s not just a toy; it\u2019s a reminder that someone cares.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual Christmas Party, to be held on Saturday 7 December, gathers 75 children from orphanages, care homes, and safe houses across the region. It\u2019s a day filled with activities, treats, and plenty of holiday magic, including face painting, magicians and live music. \u201cWe have Santa arriving on a motorbike, with his reindeer \u2018resting\u2019 in Tokai Forest for the day,\u201d Flanagan explains with a smile. \u201cThe children absolutely love it, and every year we try to make it even more special.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through their collaboration with Safripol and the support of local community, the Tokai Lions have been able to extend this joy beyond just one day. With collection points at Blue Route Mall, the Safripol Toy Campaign is encouraging residents to donate pre-loved toys until Wednesday 15 January next year, reducing waste while giving these items a renewed purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-memories\">Memories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive started on Friday 1 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t just about toys \u2013 it\u2019s about hope and creating lasting memories,\u201d says Flanagan. \u201cEvery donation is a gift that says \u2018You matter\u2019. These toys become cherished treasures for children who often go without.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the day breakfast, lunch and special treats, like doughnuts will be provided, ensuring the children are celebrated and well cared for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t do this without our community\u2019s support,\u201d Flanagan acknowledges. \u201cFrom the toys to the food, every contribution makes a difference. The collaboration with Safripol has helped us reach more children, and it\u2019s wonderful to see our community step up to spread joy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Flanagan and the Tokai Lions, this initiative also carries a deeper message of sustainability. \u201cBy reusing these toys, we\u2019re teaching the children about caring for the planet and for each other,\u201d she explains.
