Cape Town is gearing up to host the world\u2019s top hockey nations after being confirmed as the venue for the 2025\u201326 FIH Hockey Men\u2019s Nations Cup, taking place from Thursday 11 June to Saturday 20 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South African Hockey Association<\/a> said in a statement the prestigious tournament forms part of the global competition structure of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and provides the winning nation with the opportunity to be promoted to the 2026\u201327 FIH Hockey Pro League, the pinnacle of international hockey competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will feature an outstanding lineup of international teams including South Africa, New Zealand, France, Korea, Japan, Wales, Malaysia, Scotland and Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scotland earned their place through promotion via the FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2, while Ireland enter the tournament following their participation in the 2024\u201325 FIH Hockey Pro League season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will mark the return of the FIH Hockey Nations Cup to South Africa, following the country\u2019s successful hosting of the inaugural edition in Potchefstroom in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Africa\u2019s men\u2019s team made history by winning the inaugural Nations Cup in 2022, and the opportunity to compete on home soil once again adds further excitement to the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SA Hockey Boost<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hosting the FIH Hockey Men\u2019s Nations Cup represents a major milestone for South African hockey, providing an opportunity to bring international sport, tourism, and community engagement together in one of the world\u2019s great sporting cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will offer significant commercial and branding opportunities for organisations looking to align with international sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIH President Tayyab Ikram expressed his gratitude to the Hockey Associations of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m excited for the thrilling matches and the fantastic atmosphere that will unfold, as some of the world\u2019s top teams showcase their talent for hockey fans around the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SA Hockey President Deon Morgan welcomed the opportunity for South Africa to host world-class international hockey again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
