type=\"link\" id=\"http:\/\/www.navy.mil.za\/Pages\/About.aspx\">Navy <\/a>Festival in Simon\u2019s Town this weekend are urged to plan their travel in advance and take note of special traffic arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City of Cape Town Traffic Services spokesperson, Kevin Jacobs, said a large turnout was expected, which would place pressure on parking and traffic flow in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking in Simon\u2019s Town would be limited, and visitors were encouraged to arrive early to avoid congestion and delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-parking-bays\">Parking bays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional parking would be available at Simon\u2019s Town High School, although space would remain limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacobs encouraged the public to make use of alternative transport options to ease traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metrorail would provide additional train services over the weekend, with a R20 return ticket available between Cape Town and Simon\u2019s Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-free-park-and-ride-facilities\">Free park-and-ride facilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Commuters were especially encouraged to travel by train between Muizenberg and Simon\u2019s Town, where road congestion was expected to be highest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Free park-and-ride facilities would operate from Fish Hoek Sports Ground and Fish Hoek Beach, with shuttle services run by MyCiTi buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-traffic-control\">Traffic control <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, a free military-operated shuttle service would run from the Glen Sports Complex in Glencairn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacobs advised festivalgoers to plan ahead, follow all signage and comply with instructions from traffic officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Making use of the available transport options would help ensure smoother traffic flow and a more enjoyable experience for all attending the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALSO
