CAPE TOWN –<\/strong> Muizenberg residents, businesses and community members are invited to attend the first Construction Community Liaison Meeting of 2026 for the ongoing Muizenberg Beachfront Refurbishment Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will take place at Muizenberg Civic Centre on Wednesday 25 February, from 17:30 to 19:00, providing an opportunity for those affected by construction activities to receive updates and voice concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The refurbishment project, which began in February last year, aims to replace aging seawalls and deliver major upgrades to public amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has now reached a critical stage requiring large sections of the beachfront to be fenced off for public safety. A large crane will be installed at Surfer\u2019s Corner within days to place concrete precast units for the new promenade walkway, resulting in the closure of nine parking bays for approximately three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholder engagement priority<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chand Consultants has been appointed to facilitate transparent communication between project developers and the community throughout the construction period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company aims to maintain open dialogue with affected residents, businesses and the broader public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The liaison meeting will focus on several key areas to keep the community informed and address ongoing concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project representatives will provide comprehensive updates on current construction activities and progress made to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those attending will receive crucial information about no-go areas and alternative detour routes to help navigate the construction zone safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will outline expected disruptions and detail mitigation measures being implemented to minimise inconvenience to residents and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communication channels will be clearly indicated, ensuring community members know how to access ongoing information and report issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session will conclude with an open forum allowing participants to raise questions or express concerns directly to project representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
