The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town said its \u201cSafe Zone\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peoplespost\/inquest-opened-after-mans-body-recovered-at-duncan-docks-in-table-bay\/\">drowning<\/a> prevention campaign is fully underway as the school holidays begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign highlights the four golden rules of drowning prevention, which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Swim only between the lifeguards\u2019 red and yellow flags at beaches.<br>&#8211; Do not bring alcohol to the beach and do not drink and swim.<br>&#8211; Be alert to the dangers of rip currents.<br>&#8211; Actively supervise children at all times, especially around water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Francine Higham, Mayco member for community service and health, cautioned parents to put their children\u2019s safety first, and to ensure that they are always in the care of a responsible adult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe city has numerous \u201csafe zones\u201d for children this summer, including a host of recreational facilities and libraries with facilitated programmes to keep them engaged in meaningful ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She emphasised that child safety is a shared responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlways know their whereabouts, what they\u2019re wearing, who their friends are and where they live,\u201d explained Higham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said designated swimming beaches and City swimming pools are manned by lifeguards daily, between 10:00 and 18:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMake sure your child knows to follow their instructions, and to stay in the shallow end of the pool or surf if they are not strong swimmers. Children under the age of seven need to be accompanied by an adult at all times, when visiting City swimming pools.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information is available at <a
