Police have confirmed that all four detainees who escaped from Wynberg Magistrate\u2019s Court on Monday 20 October are now back in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final suspect, Ismail George, was arrested in Mitchell\u2019s Plain on Sunday 2 November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is expected to appear in court today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
George\u2019s arrest follows an extensive manhunt launched after the dramatic Wynberg court escape. During the escape, four men, aged between 22 and 33, fled the courthouse. This occurred after their appearance on charges including illegal firearm possession, housebreaking, and outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three of the suspects, Linda Soyeza, Tawfeeq Damo, and Mphumeleli Lufutha, were re-arrested last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soyeza handed himself over to police, while Damo was traced to a premises in Grassy Park. Lufutha was apprehended in Samora Machel on Friday 24 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police spokesperson Colonel Andr\u00e8 Traut confirmed that the final arrest brings the matter to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll four escapees are now in custody and will face additional charges related to their escape from lawful custody,\u201d said Traut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of the public are thanked for their assistance during the search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
