Additionally, police sources said they have not ruled out extortion-related activity in their pursuit of all leads. As a result, officials assigned the case to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit for investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, Western Cape Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile condemned the violence, calling the incident “deeply concerning.” Moreover, he urged community members to provide information to assist the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly, Loyiso Skoti, chairman of the Hout Bay Community Policing Forum, said the murders highlighted ongoing safety concerns in the area.
