An Ottery-based school awarded their most recent batch of graduates with certificates to support their career pursuits.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christel House South Africa (CHSA)<\/a> rewarded 40 young adults who completed their Youth Bridge course recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-profit, no-fee school provides about 1 000 students from under-resourced communities in Cape Town with high-quality, high-impact and rounded education.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Youth Bridge course was inspired by the organisation’s efforts to address youth unemployment, said school spokesperson Megan Losper. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This ambitious group of young people from Langa have completed the character-based, career-focused readiness programme and are now equipped with the skills, confidence, and support to step boldly into the world of work and opportunity,” said Losper.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liqhawe Dlokweni, a graduate from the Langa 2 cohort, said: “Youth Bridge helped me a lot in CV writing and interviewing skills\u2014not only that, but also in terms of changing my mindset and taking full responsibility for my future. For that, I’m very grateful. Thank you.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Youth Bridge initiative supports unemployed youth aged 18 to 35, helping them bridge the gap between their untapped ambitions and the opportunities that await them. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme builds on securing employment by addressing key barriers to employment through a character-based, career-readiness approach.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants receive 18 weeks of structured support, including mentorship and placement assistance. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through meaningful connections with mentors in industry, Youth Bridge ensures young people are set on a path to stable employment and upward economic mobility. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, the next three Youth Bridge cohorts for 2025 will take place in Khayelitsha.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
