Two arrested after e-hailing driver robbed at gunpoint in Parkwood

Grassy Park police have arrested two suspects following the armed robbery of an e-hailing driver in Parkwood on Saturday 25 April.

The incident occurred about 20:47 in Pers Road after the driver responded to a pick-up request. On arrival two unknown men entered the vehicle. One of the suspects allegedly produced a firearm before robbing the driver of his personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects aged 20 and 28. They appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court after being formally charged.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were still under investigation.
