Two women working at the Rondebosch McDonald’s on Main Road were not Lovin’ It when four armed suspects fled from the fast food outlet early on Thursday morning 21 September, after stealing their personal items and cash.

No injuries were reported during the incident that happened around 06:55, according to Rondebosch police spokesperson WO Lyndon Sisam.

Sisam details that four suspects, one of whom wore a McDonald’s T-shirt, entered the Rondebosch outlet, on Main Road, while the two female employees were preparing for the day’s work.

“One pointed a firearm at them, while the other suspect, who knew the code, punched it in, and it gave them access behind the counter.”

The suspects took cash and the staff’s property before locking the two women in the cold storage room.

“When it was quiet, the staff let themselves out by opening the cold room from the inside,” Sisam added.

He informed the People’s Post that video footage of the premises is being studied to gain more information for ongoing investigations.

Police are on the lookout for four men between the ages of 25 and 35 wearing caps and one suspect wearing a McDonald’s T-shirt.

Anyone with more information is urged to inform Detective Sgt Mahego at Rondebosch Police by calling 021 685 6601.
