Liam Mason, a Grade 9 learner at Generation Schools Imhoff in Kommetjie, recently secured outstanding results at the Pony Club’s annual Interbranch competition.

The regional event brought top youth riders together to compete across multiple disciplines, including dressage, equitation, show jumping, and showing. Representing Noordhoek’s u-7 to u-19 contingent, Mason delivered a spectacular individual performance, according to school teacher Tertius Nel.

He clinched a first-, third- and fourth-place finish in his solo categories, demonstrating incredible versatility and skill in the saddle. The competition was a celebration of sportsmanship, energy, and teamwork.

Dominant performance

In the team events, Liam joined forces with a mixed-age group to dominate the arena.

Their collective efforts paid off handsomely as the team added two first-place finishes and a second-place finish to their weekend haul.

Following a highly successful weekend filled with rosettes, great riding and immense team spirit, Liam and his fellow riders are keeping their momentum high.

The equestrian action continues immediately in the region, with local competitors already shifting their focus to the upcoming Western Cape Eventing Championships scheduled for this coming weekend.
