Three-time Grammy Award-winning R&B star Ne-Yo will take to the stage at Grand Arena, GrandWest, this Saturday, 17 October, for a sold-out Cape Town show as part of his return to South Africa.
The singer-songwriter, known for chart-topping hits such as So Sick, Miss Independent and Closer, will perform in Cape Town before heading to Pretoria for a show at SunBet Arena on Sunday, 18 October.
With a catalogue that has accumulated 23 billion streams worldwide, Ne-Yo has built a strong following in South Africa, where fans can expect a set featuring some of his best-known songs.
His breakthrough came in 2005 when So Sick reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to achieve quadruple-platinum certification. Other popular tracks include Sexy Love, Because of You and Push Back, featuring Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don.
Beyond his own music, Ne-Yo has made his mark as a songwriter, penning hits for some of the biggest names in the industry.
His writing credits include Rihanna’s Unfaithful, Russian Roulette and Take a Bow, as well as Beyoncé’s Irreplaceable. He has also written songs for artists including Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion and Mario.
The multi-talented performer has also ventured into film and television.
Thato Segaole, executive director of Vertex Events, said the team was looking forward to bringing the award-winning artist to South African audiences.
“Giving the audiences a chance to experience a talented and respected artist such as Ne-Yo is a great pleasure for our team,” said Segaole.
