CAPE TOWN – A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot on St. Peter’s Street in Seawinds, Muizenberg, on Friday afternoon, prompting a murder investigation by local police.
The shooting occurred at 17:05 when the teenager sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Community members discovered the victim’s body lying in the road and alerted authorities.
“Muizenberg police responded to reports of the shooting incident and immediately opened a murder case for investigation,” said police spokesperson, Capt FC van Wyk.

Medical personnel declared the teenager deceased at the scene.
“The motive for the killing is gang-related,” Van Wyk added.
