Grassy Park’s police officers recovered R30 000 worth of drugs consisting of cocaine and dagga.

CAPE TOWN – A 36-year-old suspected drug dealer was arrested in Parkwood on Friday morning 23 January after police saw him toss a bag out of a window as they were about to raid the premises.

The dramatic arrest unfolded at approximately 07:00 when members of the Grassy Park Sector Policing Group executed a search warrant at a property in Cuckoo Crescent following a tip-off about drugs allegedly being stored at the address.

Officers knocked and announced their presence at the residence, saw the suspect throw a black bag from a window in what appeared to be a desperate attempt to dispose of contraband.

The officers immediately retrieved the discarded bag and proceeded to search the premises thoroughly before arresting the suspect.

The black bag was found to contain cocaine and dagga with an estimated street value of R30 000

The suspect faces charges of dealing in drugs and will appear in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court once formally charged.
