Christel House South Africa’s Career Development department hosted some of their alumni leaders on campus on Saturday 7 February for the first in-person leadership engagement of 2026.
The event focused on developing the next generation of “community change-makers.”
Christel House South Africa is a no-fee, non-profit school based in Ottery and supports learners from disadvantaged communities, starting from Grade RR until age 18 and five years post matric.

The workshop was facilitated by Francoise Gallet from Thrive Life and Justine Gevisser from Corself, who serves as a Christel House Education Board Member.
Together, they guided the past learners through conversations on leadership, collaboration, and “leading from within.”
Personal growth and connection
Designed as a space for reflection, personal growth and connection within the alumni committee, the session equipped participants with practical tools to lead with clarity, purpose, and accountability as they support the broader CHSA alumni community.
Alumni leader Aatiqa Philander from the Class of 2024, reflected that the experience reinforced her belief that leadership is fundamentally about uplifting others.
The school continues investing in alumni as future professionals, community leaders and ensuring they remain connected, supported, and equipped for their careers..The school expressed gratitude to facilitators Francoise Gallet, Justine Gevisser, and the Career Development team for contributing lending her time and expertise.
