A total of six Yellowwood and Stinkwood trees were donated to Oaklands High School by the State Information and Technology Agency (Sita) and Department of Communications and Digital Technologies.

Dignitaries, including the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Solly Malatsi, Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews, Subcouncil 11 chair Antonio van der Rheede and Ward 60 councillor Mark Kleinschmidt planted two of the trees at the school on Tuesday 4 February.

The tree planting preceded the launch and opening of a first-of-its kind Cyber Lab at the school.

This donation and planting is part of Sita’s Sustainability Programme to reduce carbon emissions.
