For the first time in its 11-year history, the Absa Run Your City Cape Town 10km is set for a landmark change, with the race concluding at the iconic Grand Parade.
The new finish line brings a fresh twist to the popular event, prompting a carefully planned 10km route adjustment for the 11th edition taking place on Sunday 10 May.
The City of Cape Town said in a press statement the first half of the race will remain the same, with the athletes setting off at 9:00 from Woodbridge Island in Milnerton, making their way through Paarden Island and then into the city centre via the N1 and FW De Klerk Boulevard.
Once in the city, the route will divert at the Coen Steytler Roundabout into Lower Long Street via Walter Sisulu Avenue.
The runners will head up 1,2km on Long Street, turn into Wale Street, down Adderley Street, before making a final turn onto Darling Street for a finish in front of the โGrand Old Dameโ.
