Residents at Adams Farm Home in Plumstead received Easter gifts from the Tokai Lions Club on Wednesday 1 April.
Club members visited the facility as part of their Easter outreach. They handed Easter eggs to residents in a gesture aimed at spreading joy and celebration.
The handover was made more meaningful by the packaging, with the treats presented in “Klikety Klick” boxes.
These are handmade, eco-friendly South African gift boxes created from recycled plastic bottles, adding a sustainable touch to the initiative.
In addition to the Easter eggs the club donated art supplies to the home.
The items were contributed by Lions Club president Charlie Flanagan, further supporting creative activities for residents.
Tokai Lions Club member Mark Rossouw said the initiative was rooted in the spirit of giving. This spirit is associated with the Easter period.
“Easter is a time of renewal, compassion and generosity.
“As a club we believe it is important to share that spirit with those in our communities who may need it most.

“Our visit to Adams Farm Home was about more than just handing over gifts. It was about connection, dignity and reminding residents that they are seen and valued.”
Rossouw added that the use of Klikety Klick boxes also reflected the club’s awareness of environmental responsibility.
“By using these recycled and locally made boxes, we are not only supporting a South African initiative. Additionally, we are promoting sustainability.
“Small choices like these can make a meaningful difference.”
According to the club, the visit was warmly received, with residents expressing appreciation for the thoughtful donations.
The initiative brought excitement and upliftment to the home.
The Tokai Lions Club thanked all members who took part in the project. Their contributions helped make the occasion special for the residents.
