CAPE TOWN – Noordhoek’s vibrant art community has once again shown the power of creativity and collaboration, raising R45 000 for MasiSports during this year’s Noordhoek Open Studios exhibition.

Held over two days, the annual event welcomed more than 350 visitors who explored 28 studios across the valley.

Guests were invited into intimate creative spaces, from garden studios to gallery rooms, where they engaged directly with artists and gained insight into their work.

The initiative is spearheaded by local artist Aimee Kruger, owner of the Noordhoek Art Point Gallery, who said the weekend had been filled with a strong sense of connection and purpose.

“There was such beautiful energy across the valley,” she said.

“It was incredibly special to see people from the local community, across Cape Town and beyond, coming together to support both the artists and MasiSports.”

Proceeds from ticket sales were donated to MasiSports, an organisation that provides structured sport and arts programmes for children in Masiphumelele.

The funds raised will help create opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop skills and explore their creativity.

Kruger emphasised that the event’s impact extends beyond the studios.

“It’s not just about the art,” she said. “It’s about the opportunities we’re able to create for young people. That’s where the real magic lies.”

The success of this year’s Open Studios highlights how community-driven initiatives can make a meaningful difference, blending art and social upliftment in a uniquely Noordhoek way.
